Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Theater Nurse to join our surgical team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the perioperative process. You will work closely with surgeons, anesthetists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain the operating theater, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available and sterile.
  • Assist in the preparation of patients for surgery, including preoperative assessments and education.
  • Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, aseptic techniques, and patient safety protocols
  • Provide direct nursing care to patients during surgical procedures, monitoring vital signs and responding to any changes in condition.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure efficient and safe surgical practices.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting care provided and any changes in patient status.
  • Adhere to infection control protocols and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Participate in the training and mentoring of junior staff and students as required.
  • Engage in continuous professional development and stay updated on best practices in perioperative nursing.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid NMC (Nursing and Midwifery Council) registration.
  • Relevant experience in a theater or surgical setting is preferred.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations.
